Van Cao was born on November 15th 1923 in nam Dinh , from a family of poor workers. He started to compose music when he was very young. He wrote the first sing in 1939 and quickly became famous. His piece of music “Tien quan lại Ca’ was chosen as the National anthem in 1944. Apart from songs, Van Cao also wrote poems và had some paintings. He died on July 10th ,1995. Van Cao is known as a very talented musician & highly appreciated by The Vietnasmese people.

Van Cao wrote many songs. Some of his mostwell-known are:Go Dong da (1942); Tien Quan
Ca (1944); Bai Ca Chien mê man Hai quan (1945); Khong
Quan Viet Nam(1945); Ngay mua (1948).
Van Cao"s real name is Nguyen Van Cao. He was acomposer who was born on 15 November 1923in nhì Phong, but his hometown was nam giới Dinh.
Van Cao is remembered as one of the mostimportant composers of modern Vietnamesemusic & one of the most popular composersin the world. He died on July 10, 1995 in Ha Noi.After his death, he received the Ho chi Minh
Prize.
